Council Elections
To stand for election to a local council you must:
- Be a UK or Commonwealth citizen; or be a citizen of the Republic of Ireland; or be a citizen of another Member State of the European Union
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be an elector of the local council; or in the past 12 months occupied land or other premises in the area the local council serves (as owner or tenant); or work in the area the local council serves (as your principal or only place of work); or live within three miles of the local council boundary.

Their details are on the parish council website www.elmsett.onesuffolk.net. You will also be able to get further information about the council and its activities.
A reminder to all newcomers to enable you to vote in these elections please make sure you are registered with Babergh DC on their electoral roll.
Nomination forms can be obtained from the clerk email clerk@elmsett.suffolk.gov.uk and completed nomination papers must be returned by 4pm on 3 April to the Returning Officer.
